Trigun, what you said about the F-15 was dead on. Yes the falcon may be more manuverable but in these missle engagements it's all about who detects who first. Thus, the better radar wins. Also the thrust to weight ratio on the eagle surpasses the falcon's. In a gun battle, the falcon could out manuvere the eagle but still the eagle could outrun the falcon therefore, escaping and leaving the falcon pilot without a kill. Almost sounds like the old vietnam engagements between mig-21s and phantoms..... |

This is an interesting topic but in all reality, it would never happen. Both the Eurofighter and the Raptor are used by respective NATO countries. The greatest threat would come from second generation russian fighters such as the mig-29, Su-37, and the Yak-141. |
